Natural Bitumen (Gilsonite)
Natural bitumen which is known as gilsonite, asphaltite, unitaite is a glossy black resin. Gilsonite softens in a range of temperatures according to grade, from 300 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (150-205 degrees Celsius). It has low specific gravity, high nitrogen content and very lower sulfur content. Gilsonite is the transformed crude oil reaching the earth’s surface due to geological changes and finding an appropriate and dry space. This ore is an important industrial material which is found in a limited number of countries. Due to its unique properties, gilsonite is used in a variety of industries like paint and stains, ink, foundry, construction, asphalt. About 160 products are derived from gilsonite
Our Products and Services

MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET GILSONITE
Gilsonite, to be asphaltum is a natural resinous hydrocarbon found in natural as a mineral. This natural asphalt is similar to hard petroleum asphalt and is often called natural asphalt, asphaltite, uintaite or asphaltum. Gilsonite is soluble in aromatic and aliphatic solvents as well as petroleum asphalt. Due to its unique compatibility, gilsonite is frequently used to harden softer petroleum products.Gilsonite mass is a shiny, black substance similar in appearance to the mineral obsidian. It is brittle and can be easily crushed into dark brown powder
